Xeomin®

Xeomin is the newest botulinum toxin type A injectable. It has just been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in patients with cervical dystonia and blepharospasm. It has not yet been approved for cosmetic use; however, it is being used off-label to treat frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead wrinkles.

How Does it work?

Xeomin works by relaxing muscles, similar to BOTOX® and Dysport®, with just a couple of differences. One important difference is that, unlike Botox and Dysport, Xeomin contains no additives. This may mean less risk of the patient developing antibodies that can prevent the toxin from having its desired effect.

Xeomin is injected into the muscle and may take 7-14 days to take effect.  Results may last 3-6 months.
