Routine Eye Exams Chicago
Yearly eye exams are extremely important and should be included in everyone's health care regime. If you have blurry vision, it can often be easily corrected with glasses, contacts, or laser vision correction. Your comprehensive eye exam will also check for eye diseases that may have no early symptoms but should still be treated to avoid loss of vision.
Your exam may include diagnostic tests including a visual field, wavefront, refraction and retinoscopy. If you require contacts or glasses, our full-service optical shop provides a wide array of designer brands such as Gucci, Prada, Versace, and more.
Please remember that during your exam, you eyes may need to be dilated. Dilation drops make your pupils bigger in order to get a better view of the internal structure of the eye. Dilation may last up to 36 hours and your eyes may become sensitive during this time. Sunglasses may be used to minimize glare and light sensitivity.

Glaucoma Treatment Chicago
Glaucoma is the name given to a group of eye diseases in which the optic nerve at the back of the eye is slowly destroyed. In most people, this damage is due to an increased pressure inside the eye. In other patients, the damage may be caused by poor blood supply to the vital optic nerve fibers, a weakness in the structure of the nerve, and/or a problem in the health of the nerve fibers themselves . It is important to routinely monitor your glaucoma to prevent complications.

Cataract Evaluations & Cataract Surgery Chicago
Cataracts are very common and are more likely to occur with age. A cataract is a cloudy area in the lens of the eye that can occur in one or even both eyes. It is caused by the clumping of protein that makes up the lens resulting in blurred vision.
Although cataracts can be related to age, they can also be caused by other factors such as diabetes, smoking, alcohol use, and other environmental factors such as prolonged sun exposure.
How are cataracts treated?
If you are diagnosed with cataracts, you will most likely require surgery. Cataract surgery is typically a quick, outpatient procedure that is done in our surgicenter in which the doctor will remove the clouded lens. In some cases, the lens will need to be replaced with an artificial lens.
