Ultherapy is a quick procedure that uses ultrasound technology to stimulate the body’s own regenerative response. It gently and gradually restores memory to the skin and underlying tissue support and was recently featured on Dr. OZ and on The Rachael Ray Show!
Ultherapy is a non-invasive procedure, that can take anywhere between 45 – 90 minutes to perform. Ultherapy helps skin restore the memory to the tissue underneath in order to tighten and lift the skin. In clinical studies, significant changes were noted in regard to the lifting of the skin.
Ultherapy isn’t a replacement for facelift and other methods but it is an option for patients who are not ready for surgery or perhaps not a candidate for surgery.
How Ulthera Works
Ultherapy utilizes a small device on the skin which emits an ultrasound to reach and affect the skin and tissue beneath your skin.
The technician can view the image of your tissue underneath your skin. The Ulthera device not only sees underneath the skin but it is also used to deliver heat energy at low levels to tighten and remodel the affected tissue, without leaving any negative effects to the surface of your skin.
The reaction to the low levels of ultrasound heat energy causes the skin to contract immediately. The heat energy stimulates your collagen which will cause it to grow new over time. When the new collagen grows it will gradually tighten and lift the skin, resulting in a natural lift of the brows, nasolabial folds, marionette lines & neck.
How Ulthera Differs from Other Non-surgical Skin Tightening Procedures
Ultherapy is the first non-surgical FDA-approved lifting procedure that tightens facial muscles. This procedure is the only one that employs the use of ultrasound imaging and therapy. By using ultrasound, it allows us to see underneath the skin and then the area we are treating.
What can I expect from Ulthera?
With only a single treatment, your collagen is stimulated to build and results may be seen immediately. For the treatment to fully take effect, it will occur gradually over the period of four to five months. Clinical trials reported results of tighter, firmer, more youthful looking skin. Our patients particularly like the better defined jaw, and lessening of the jaw line and turkey neck.
After the procedure, you can return back to work and continue with normal activities.
For some people, your skin may look puffy, slightly swollen, or flushed after the treatment, but this is temporary.

An estimated 2-3% of Americans suffer from excessive sweating of the underarms (primary axillary hyperhidrosis. The uncontrollable sweating can lead to significant discomfort, both physical and emotional.
Excessive underarm sweating is a medical condition that involves overactive sweat glands. Sweat is your body’s temperature regulator. In severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, sweating significantly exceeds the body’s normal requirements for cooling.
People who suffer from axillary hyperhidrosis may resort to:
While people with excessive underarm sweating may choose many different antiperspirants or over-the-counter prescriptions, in many instances those products fail to stop the sweating.
Ultherapy for axillary hyperhidrosis is a non-invasive ultrasound treatment that is customized for underarm hyperhidrosis. The Ultherapy procedure is non-invasive, as it involves no surgical incisions or cuts. Prior to the procedure, temporary markings are placed on the skin to guide treatment, and local anesthesia is administered to the underarms to maintain patient comfort.
The total patient appointment time is generally 60 minutes; this includes numbing the area and efficient time for any questions by the patient.
What can I expect after the procedure?
Most patients notice sweat reduction immediately after the procedure. Two procedures are typically recommended three months apart to maximize the results and duration. After 2 Ultherapy treatments, up to 90% reduction in underarm sweat may be expected.
Is there downtime associated with Ultherapy for hyperhidrosis?
Most patients are able to return to work on the same day of the procedure, and can typically resume exercise within several days. All patients will experience soreness under their arms up to 2 weeks post procedure. Mild to moderate edema (swelling) under the arms is typical post treatment and lasts about a week or two.
Patients may experience temporary decreased sensation of the skin in the treated area. This will dissipate within a few weeks.
What are the benefits?
The results of Ultherapy for hyperhidrosis are long-lasting. By using ultrasound, this procedure is safe and has reported a high patient satisfaction. This procedure can be performed with minimal to no downtime.
