This portable device treats fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, injury scars, stretch marks, burns, and hyper-pigmentation. The Dermapen can also be used in combination with other rejuvenation products such as laser therapy, BBL, to increase delivery and efficacy of active medical-grade products and skin care. The Dermapen has been shown to aid in wound healing and stimulation.
After being topically numbed, the Dermapen uses multiple fine needles to vertically puncture the skin. This causes collagen development and enhances skin rejuvenation. Dermapen utilizes precise settings that are manually adjusted per patient, to reach a specific depth in the skin while minimizing excess damage to the skin. This treatment works to tighten and rejuvenate skin from below the surface.
The Dermapen’s needle depth can be adjusted during the course of treatment and the device can easily be maneuvered around facial contours and delicate features such as the eyes, nose and mouth.
The Dermapen is an advanced technique from the dermaroller that caused more tissue damage leaving longer downtime or recovery. An added benefit of the Dermapen is healing time; patients may wear make-up the next day if one chooses.

DOT Skin Resurfacing Chicago
If you love the sun and are guilty of going without adequate sunscreen, you know what it can do to your skin. Now, with DOT resurfacing, an innovative, new laser procedure, you may restore your skin's youthful appearance. While we are unable to stop aging, we are able to help you maintain your rejuvenated skin's appearance for many years.
How does the DOT work?
The DOT laser precisely creates thousands of microscopic holes in your skin, leaving islands of healthy tissue surrounding the treated area. This enables your skin to heal rapidly and will provide immediate skin tightening and stimulate new collagen growth. Your results will be improved skin tone and texture and softening of fine lines, deep wrinkles, and acne scars.
How will my skin be after treatment?
You may experience some peeling for about 3-4 days. During your recovery, you will apply a hydrating lotion to keep your skin moist and promote rapid healing. In most cases, you may resume applying makeup after about 3 days.

Photorejuvenation Chicago/ Sciton BBL
The natural consequences of aging on our skin include sun damage, freckles, age spots, acne scarring, enlarged pores, and redness caused by broken capillaries and rosacea. Photorejuvenation reduces these signs of aging using non-invasive, painless pulses of light. Treatments can also improve the appearance of birthmarks and uneven pigmentation and stimulate the production of collagen.
How Does It Work?
The energy delivered will gently heat the upper layers of the skin. The heat is then absorbed by the targeted areas and will stimulate skin cells to regenerate new collagen. This energy will also target and minimize fine blood vessels that cause redness. Faces are a very common area to treat, but many people also seek treatment in areas such as the neck, chest, arms, shoulders, and hands.
What Is Recovery Like?
Photorejuvenation is a noninvasive and gentle procedure with little to no downtime. You will notice some redness immediately after that will resolve within a few hours. If brown spots were targeted, you will notice some darkening followed by fading and flaking off. Your skin will feel smoother, sunspots and uneven pigment will fade, and fine lines and pores will be less noticeable.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial
The Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) facial has become popular and received some well-deserved attention from Hollywood and mainstream public that we see in our office every day! The PRP facial is a procedure which combines your own platelets with the use of dermal stimulation that includes the Demapen or micro-needling, or laser resurfacing.
PRP is an office-based procedure that starts with a standard blood draw. The platelet rich plasma is then separated and concentrated by a special centrifuge. The PRP is then mixed with a calcium chloride into what becomes a gel that is then applied to the treated area and driven in with micro-needling.
The micro needle procedure using the Dermapen is a method that initiates collagen reproduction by creating tiny holes. Dermapen uses multiple thin needles that gently penetrate the skin. This enhances rejuvenation results and is far safer for the patient because there is much less epidermal damage. The Dermapen also increases the effectiveness of the treatment by increasing absorption of topical products.
Immediately after an injury takes place, the human skin is designed to dissolve old damaged tissue and to replace it with new cells. By using PRP with the Dermapen; this is greatly achieved.
The use of platelet rich plasma (PRP) delivery to the dermis enhances the Dermapen treatment for expedited healing and enhances the skin tissue. The platelet rich plasma (PRP) also has factors which stimulate blood supply to the skin; this creates a look of glow and overall skin rejuvenation.
The benefits of this treatment can be noticed as soon as a few days. The skin can continue to improve over several weeks and the benefits can last for months.
The Platelet Rich Plasma facial is customized to each patient’s concerns. The PRP facial can be used to improve the appearance of:
- ·Overall Complexion
- Acne/Injury scars
- Fine lines
- Sun damaged skin
- Brown/Red discolorations
Typically, the skin can appear “sunburnt” or reddish pink for 1-2 days however; makeup may be worn the next day.
Dr. Daniel Ritacca believes cosmetic procedures using PRP offer the most natural and effective approach for facial & body rejuvenation that the cosmetic surgery industry has to offer.
Our patients leave our facility with firmer, smoother and younger looking skin.
