Frequently Asked Questions
I have breathing problems, will insurance cover my rhinoplasty?
Insurance may cover a portion of the operating room and anesthesia. Please bring your insurance card to your consultation, and we can submit a predetermination on your behalf to see what your insurance coverage will be. You will only be required to pay your co-pay at your consultation.
How do I know if I am a candidate for rhinoplasty?
If you do not like the way your nose looks and are willing to undergo a surgical procedure, and if you are in good physical and mental health, then you are eligible for a rhinoplasty consultation. During your consultation with the doctor, he will talk with you in detail and examine you. Then, he will explain his expectations for your surgery and will let you know if he thinks you are a good candidate.
Do I have to stay overnight in the hospital?
No, this is outpatient surgery. Our patients typically go home after surgery; or, when they are from out-of-town, they stay at one of a number of fine hotels in the area.
Is there a lot of pain or nausea?
Not typically. Time after time, patients are surprised at how little pain and how little nausea there is. After-surgery, pain is usually well-controlled with a mild narcotic.

The thread-lift or the "Featherlift" is an innovative new non-surgical cosmetic procedure. Featured on Oprah, this procedure gives lift to the face by using tiny invisible threads.
The Featherlift procedure is performed with the patient awake but under local anesthesia. The Aptos threads are carefully inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using a small needle. The placement of the threads depends on the area needing to be lifted. As few as three threads will noticeably lift the cheeks, and two more carefully placed threads will pull back the jowls. The neck and upper brow can also be treated using the the threadlift. The effect of the treatment will continue to improve over several months as the collagen in the skin collects around the newly placed threads.
Featherlift leaves no scars, takes a minimal amount of time (usually just 30 minutes to an hour), and usually only requires ice following treatment. It is a procedure that is typically suited towards younger and middle-aged patients. Results are usually achieved with only one treatment . Side effects can include some minor swelling and bruising.
Complications are very rare, but can include a small pucker at the entrance of the thread, or the thread can protrude slightly from the skin. If such side effects occur, they are easily treatable by trimming the excess thread or massaging the skin.

This is the method most frequently chosen for augmentation (enlarging) of the buttocks. You must have enough "spare" fat in areas such as the abdomen, flanks, hips, lower back or thighs. This excess will be removed with very gentle, low-vacuum liposuction using a special cannula (thin tube) to protect the living fat cells. The fat particles are purified, then inserted into the layers of the buttocks through a single 1/8" incision, putting tiny droplets throughout the tissues so each fat cell will have a good blood supply.
