BBL Photofacial (Broadband Light) Overview
As we get old, our skin begins to display all the damage from environmental factors and the natural processes of aging. Our skin starts to display all sorts of blemishes and flaws, and the youthful glow and firmness in our skin gradually disappear. One new treatment, the BBL photofacial, uses a special kind of light to penetrate the deepest layers of skin to trigger the rejuvenation of our skin. With a treatment called the photofacial, the skin becomes clearer, more youthful, and regains its glow.
Ritacca Cosmetic Surgery offers the Sciton Forever Young BBL device for their photofacial treatments. The BBL Photofacial works by using light energy to stimulate collagen in the deeper layers of skin, as well as changing the molecular makeup of some of the most important parts of our skin. The photofacial penetrates past the epidermis and dermis to stimulate skin cells, changing the gene expression of genes associated with aging and longevity. This reinvigorates the skin cells, allowing your skin to look younger down to the cellular level.
The BBL Photofacial can target a wide variety of conditions:
- Age Spots
- Loose Skin
- Unwanted Hair
- Uneven Skin Texture
- Vascular Lesions

We want to make sure that the photofacial is the right treatment for you, which is why we make our consultations as informative as possible. This is your chance to learn as much as possible about the photofacial. During your consultation, you’ll be able to discuss the risks and benefits of the photofacial, have any questions or concerns addressed, as well create a possible treatment plan.
You’ll also be provided with a quote for the procedure.
The photofacial is a quick and painless treatment lasting only around 15 minutes. Most patients require multiple photofacial treatments. Typically, a series of 4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.
The photofacial has a minimal downtime, and patients can resume their normal activities almost immediately after the procedure. Some patients might experience some redness, so it is recommended for patients to stay away from excessive sun exposure immediately after the treatment. Other possible side effects include sunspots that darken over the days following the treatment, but this is temporary and should go away after one week.
