Endoscopic Browlift Chicago
A browlift, also known as a forehead lift, is a surgical procedure performed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and furrows in the forehead and produce a vibrant, younger-looking appearance that helps you look as good as you feel. This procedure is most commonly performed on patients between the ages of 40 and 70, but may also be performed on younger patients suffering from premature signs of aging.
Many patients choose to combine a browlift with a facelift, blepharoplasty or chemical peel for maximum results. Your doctor will take the time to develop a customized treatment plan for you based on your personal goals. When performed using endoscopic techniques, a browlift produces noticeable results through a minimally invasive procedure.
Procedure
A browlift is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the overall health and preference of the patient. In an endoscopic browlift, several small incisions are made within the scalp, into which an endoscope and tiny surgical instruments are inserted. The skin in the forehead area is lifted, while excess fat, muscle and skin are removed to produce an improved, younger-looking appearance. Your doctor may use temporary screws or sutures to hold the skin and muscle in place during the healing process.
The incisions are then closed and the head is wrapped with a bandage. Any stitches or staples can be removed within a week, while screws are removed after two weeks. The entire procedure takes one to two hours to perform, with patients able to return home the same day.
